Do ultra and high graphics even matter?

When I had GTS 250 (until last year) I could play games at max settings for everything if I just turned AA off (and ubersampling for witcher 2).

Yeh, that's BS. My 470 GTX couldn't even max TW2 @ 60FPS w/o ubersampling and it's singnificantly better than a GTS 250.

I got a chuckle out of thinking a 760 could max TW2 with 60fps and Ubersampling. It is a good card but it isn't doing that.

Fortunately (at least IMO) ubersampling doesn't really seem to add much, if anything to the image that would justify the performance hit it entails.

Thats because it's just an extreme for of SuperSampling, which is basically rendering the image again effectively doubling the resolution. Enabling Ubersampling in 1080p is essentially playing it in downsampled 4K since I think the renders the image 4x.

Why does everyone with a weak system always say "I could max everything"? I've seen it with literally every combination of hardware, and it's always hilarious.

There are times when my system can't max certain games at 1080p at max settings.

Really? What games? I thought 780 SLI could eat everything alive.

GTS 250 1gb ddr3 paired with a core2quad Q8400 and later the i5 3470 (2 years ago) I am using now. Played games at 1600x900 (native resolution of the monitor I used at the time), average fps in the 50+ with everything on max settings, with AA off (FXAA when available). And in the case of witcher 2, AA off and ubersampling off.

I dont give a F* if you think I am lying. I have no reason to lie about something soo irrelevant.

You're lying and I don't think you are, I know you are.

My bro has my old 470 GTX which is WAY more powerful than the card you stated and still can't play games on max settings with 60+FPS.

TW2 on my system with the 470 GTX ran at about 45FPS w/ everything on max other than Ubersampling. There's no way your card is performing better than a 470 GTX.

Also here are some benchies to back up what I'm saying: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gts-250,2172-6.html

@ the resolution you stated it can barely hit 50FPS in Far Cry 2(an older game), and in Crysis you'd be luck to get 25FPS with no AA and no AF. In BF3(http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-3-graphics-performance,3063-4.html) you won't even be getting 20FPS on max settings.

The GeForce GTX 260, GTS 250, and 9800 GTX are marginally playable at 1680x1050 at Low quality settings. From there, the numbers get less tolerable.

The Witcher 2 is considerably harder to max than any of the games I stated sans Crysis.

And here's a benchmark for Sleeping Dogs w/ your card, showing just how bad the performance is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPFpxof0Omk

Played on High settings WITH HD texture pack, 1680x1050 res. FPS average 17-23 fps without fraps, 14-18 with fraps.

Not even max settings... So you saying your getting 60FPS is BS.

something wrong on his computer.

When I played sleepings dogs I already had the i5. 1600x900, texture pack and keep in the 45-50.

The first game that played at low 30's for me was just cause 2. That was the reason I upgrade to the 760.

Every single person that benchmarked with that card reports the same thing, expect for you. Nothing is wrong with their systems you're just lying thru your teeth.

I mean come on, even a 760 GTX struggles to max the game out, you're telling me a GTS 250 is stronger than a 760 GTX? You must have some magic running thru your card.

I don't care about graphics too much. I try to set my games to run above 100 fps because it's much more enjoyable and visually appealing to me than having very high graphics settings.

Now if I could afford a card that does 120fps and Ultra on nearly every game I would be very happy.
