So I was brought this laptop to fix because it can no longer be detected. When I hit the power button there is about 10-15 short beeps. It is not found in the BIOS and my external drive caddy does the same beeps when I insert it and the other PC does not detect it. Its dead isn't it? --- Intel i5-3570k | Evga 760 Superclocked | 8 GB Corsair Vengeance | MSI Z77A-G41 | Raidmax Hybrid 2 | 1 TB Western Digital HDD | 120GB Samsung EVO SSD |
You're the one fixing it, and hopefully getting paid to do it. Is it dead? --- London-SV on Throttle Control in Gran Turismo 6 ~ ''Unless you're flooring it at every opportunity... Try to be a little more genital on the accelerator''
Find the manufacturer and model and look up the motherboard beep codes. Typically a dead HDD won't cause beep codes though. What happens when you boot without the HDD in the laptop at all? What happens when you use the plug the drive and drive caddy into your own PC? --- ---
