building a computer, any suggestions?

Been a long time since I've built a computer and I want something that can last me a few years, so here's what I came up with:

Any suggestions, comments?

Looking to keep it under $1,500, but the less I spend the better.

I don't know about other people but i find optical drives (especially Blu-ray ones) extremely overpriced and unnecessary. I mean, that one costs as much as your case for crying out loud.

Plus, it looks like you have a PS3 so how likely is it that you'd find yourself watching a Blu-Ray disc on your computer. I'd save 40 bucks on that and just go for a regular DVD drive.

Unlocked CPU with no aftermarket cooler. So unless you want to fry your CPU when OCing you better get one. If no plans to OC at all ditch the "K" and Z97 motherboard

Thanks for the feedback, I mostly just put that together to have something to start working from, I will make some of the suggested changes presented here.

And I don't have any interest in overclocking.

Get an aftermarket cooler. Ditch the blue ray. Look at getting a larger secondary HDD, unless if you have one already. I've seen a 4 tb for 99 once.

If you're not overclocking get rid of the k and z.

Then you don't need to get a Z97 board (get H97) or the K version of that CPU. They're designated for OCing. You can save a decent amount of money and use that to get a mechanical keyboard, better headset (please don't get that) or better GPU.

Any suggestions for a GPU.

Also, the few non-k versions of the CPU were basically the same price, so if I simply don't OC it, there should be no issue right? In either case I'll change the cpu and motherboard (thanks for the suggestion).

Ditched the blu ray.

And what's wrong with the headset, it was recommended to me years ago when I used to play WoW, lasted forever and the quality was great.

The video card is good.

I'm not an audio guy, so I've not a thing to say about the headset.
