AMD = Finished

I wouldn't say that just yet.I applaud AMD for making decent CPU's for a good price but they're GPU's aren't that bad. They can keep up with GTX 780 in the middle-high end of the high gaming spectrum with the 290x but there's no buffer between the 290x and the 295x2 like the 780 and the Titan does. Plus with the introduction of the Maxwell cards, AMD is trying to combat it with the Tonga series and who knows how well those will be.

CPU's however are a different story. AMD is doing okay but with the Broadwell series coming out, which may result in a price reduction in the of the Haswell i7's. By then the 4770k might drop to something around $270-80. There would be no reason not to pay the extra $70-80 for a luxury gaming Quad-Core unless you do other things than game where programs use something more than four cores. I hope AMD is scared of the Broadwell series and get innovating instead of adding more cores to combat the hyper-threading system because something like a 12-core CPU but has low single core performance would just be overkill on the cores and would be wasting money on four more cores.

Its all just speculation. Wait for Nvidia to announce, then make plans.

Indeed. Honestly I think August is far fetched tbh. Maybe an August reveal but not release.

780/ti is still a good card. The big upgrade will presumably be 880ti anyhow which is sometime next year I imagine :). So you can take solace in that fact lol.

I think they're saying 880 is 10-15% increase over the 780ti. No specs are known about 880ti yet but we'll see sometime next year I guess.

I remember people saying the same things about Ivy Bridge / Haswell and it ended up being only slightly better.
