Is there still a negative stigma against male players that play female character

Isn't negative stigma a double negative?

Depends on the definition you use. In this case kinda. At its most basic it just means 'a mark' so the title could be interpreted as "is playing as a female still a negative mark for a player?"

The most common use for it is 'negative mark' though and that seems to be TC's intention. Language is malleable though, so long as you get your point across you aren't incorrect.

I can not play a male character when given the option. Unless force to under conditions of extreme duress... like having to romance a bunch of guys (persona 3).

If the numerous times I've seen "why do guys play as women?" topics on this site is any indication, yes.

When in MMORPGs if you start pretending to be chick, that sick and considered a con man.

Well if someone is dumb enough to give away stuff based on that, lol. Kinda want a gamer Catfish spin-off now for many laughs.

Some people are always going to find it incomprehensible people like playing characters opposite their real life gender/race/etc; I wonder how they play any games. You're already yourself all the time, taking a break should be understandable. >_>

Nothing wrong with it, I pick enough dudes with glorious flowing mutton chops in character gen to pick up your slack. @_@

This train of thought is very disturbing.

You can NEVER play a male character? Like....how does this happen?

Well, it's understandable considering that in Japanese games women are usually attractive, and in western games, particularly medieval RPG's that aren't The Witcher series, women look like neanderthals with man faces and caveman arms.

If you'll read the very sentence you quoted it clearly says "when given the option".

I normally make a female character if I can't make the male character look like me.

But why would you play a female in any game? It completely breaks the immersion!
