It honestly doesn't matter, you'll end up with everything by the last quarter of the game. If you want to get the most, take Social Enhancer and Punch Through Wall early. Punch Through Wall will more than pay for itself with exclusive praxis kits.
pon pon way way way ponpon way pon way pon pon, way way ponponpon way way pon way pon way way.
I didn't play the Director's Cut yet, but the base game seemed like it heavily encouraged stealth. Getting into firefights never worked well even with full armour. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the game, but to me one of the biggest weaknesses was the augmentations. Less than halfway through the game, I already had everything I would really use and the rest of the game I was unlocking stuff for the sake of unlocking them. You can get so many praxis kits that soon enough you will have everything. There is no point in worrying about a build or anything.
2 augs you can't play without: Hacking and wall-punch. Unless you wanna miss 40% of the loot.
I feel like there was a third, but I cant remember. I guess Social Enhancer, though that is more for good conversation outcomes.
You can totally shoot walls with a silenced pistol to break them open, unless they patched it. They're a little harder to spot without the point in the skill, but IIRC, all breakable walls have a telltale crack in them. Bonus, since it also makes less noise.
