Best way to play Deus Ex HR?

It honestly doesn't matter, you'll end up with everything by the last quarter of the game. If you want to get the most, take Social Enhancer and Punch Through Wall early. Punch Through Wall will more than pay for itself with exclusive praxis kits.

I thought that the action in that game, as a shooter, is not that great. So I played it stealth/hacking too because that way the game was a little more interesting.

One problem on the normal difficulty setting is that it is just so easy to shoot up the place every damn time, that stealth/hacking is not really rewarded all that much.

I think deus ex generally encourages you to do stealth. I honestly enjoy stealth better than frontal assault.

stealth is the only fun way to play the game. but put a point or two in typhoon, and you'll have no problem with the bosses.

2 augs you can't play without: Hacking and wall-punch. Unless you wanna miss 40% of the loot.

I feel like there was a third, but I cant remember. I guess Social Enhancer, though that is more for good conversation outcomes.

Play however you want to play. The beauty of the game is you get to make that decision for yourself. If you want my opinion though I personally prefer going mostly stealth.

I didn't play the Director's Cut yet, but the base game seemed like it heavily encouraged stealth. Getting into firefights never worked well even with full armour. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the game, but to me one of the biggest weaknesses was the augmentations. Less than halfway through the game, I already had everything I would really use and the rest of the game I was unlocking stuff for the sake of unlocking them. You can get so many praxis kits that soon enough you will have everything. There is no point in worrying about a build or anything.

That game actually allows you to play how you want and still be able to go thorough it fairly comfortably.

You can totally shoot walls with a silenced pistol to break them open, unless they patched it. They're a little harder to spot without the point in the skill, but IIRC, all breakable walls have a telltale crack in them. Bonus, since it also makes less noise.

For maximum challenge, go for the "Terminator" build - all weaponry, bionic eyes, melee damage.

Blend into society and then rip it apart when things don't go your way. :D

Hah, that sounds fun actually.
