Another bad board!!!???

Wow...anyone that's read, I've been having the worst of luck with PC components...

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/916373-pc/69675040

I have just bought ALL brand new parts. I installed everything and I get the system powering up, then shutting down, then powering up, then down, etc.

Unplug everything and leave just one memory chip in, it boots up. I have 2 memory chips in, and it doesn't boot up, pretty much the exact same issue as that last Asus board I used. This one is a gigabyte and it's completely different memory, 2 chips Crucial.

I'm just really getting pissed. I really don't know how someone can screw up plugging in memory!!! It's only the easiest part with building a computer!! AAAHAHHHHH!H!!!!! Yes, of course I swapped chips, swapped ports, swapped memory since I have some other brand here. Same issue.

Am I just confused? Is there some special thing you do when you have multiple memory chips these days, or when you run dual channel? What the hell is happening!!?

Yes, ALL new parts. Not even the CPU cooler is the same.

Are you putting your standoffs on, that could prevent boot.

Could be a bad switch in the case.

Some roads you shouldn't go down because maps used to say there'd be dragons there. Now they don't, but that don't mean the dragons aren't there.

I haven't checked your topic, but if you are buying refurbished stuff trying to save money, stop.

All NEW parts, I don't buy refurbished. I've tried 2 different cases and even out of the case. Yes, the standoffs are in place, always have been. I don't know how that would even allow it to boot with one memory chip and not two anyway. I don't know how any of that would affect that situation, case, etc.

There's no answer but to RMA ANOTHER board. This is the 4th one in a row, by the way. Yeah, you'd think there would be some other issue, but seeing as how these are all new parts...I don't know what to say but bad luck. Unbelievable. This is the most bizarre PC moment(s) of my life. In the many years I've done this, no problems, but suddenly, always problems, but I'm not doing anything differently. Absolutely bizarre.

It's booting just fine. I'm on it right now. I can only run it with one memory chip though instead of two. It's a Mini ITX board, so there are only the two ports. It won't boot with a chip in the second slot.

Go to a local computer shop an ask them to put it together an see if they can get it running. There's some kind of user error here. Your not repeatedly getting bad parts.., it's dang near impossible.

Edit2: nvm.

Are the memory sticks you're using on the QVL for your motherboard?
