WTF @ my CPU temperatures.

i5-2500k with hyper 212+ @ 4.5GHz. Vcore @ 1.325 V.

i idle in the 40s now and under prime 95 (small FFT or blend) it reaches high 70s/low 80s. with games, it gets around high 50s/low 60s.

don't understand. i thought the hyper 212+ was really good. i have a CM stryker case with not bad cable management. also a gtx 770

Cooler probably not set right. Could be too much or too little thermal paste. Try a lower voltage.

To be fair, those are perfectly acceptable temps

i've re-seated the cooler many times and used a good thermal paste set right in the middle of the CPU and spread it out to fill the holes.

I'd go so far as to say those temps are normal given the voltage and lack of liquid cooling.

i have a 2500k and 212+ at 4.4ghz

I only use 1.29v. I idle at 30-35 and hit 60-65 at load. Your temps are a bit high but so is your voltage. I've always wondered if I didn't seat mine right either, but mine's been running smoothly for years so I've just left it as is

Don't spread the thermal paste yourself, let the heatsink do it.

had to raise voltage for better stability. was getting BSODs @ 1.3 V for 4.5 Ghz.

What exactly is pea sized in your opinion. You could be putting way to much on. When they say pea sized they mean something more like a BB gun pellet.
