Why do people think Valve isn't greedy?

Developers do not set pricing. Publishers set a suggested price. Stores can sell the game for whatever they want.

From Valves FAQ:
3. Who sets the price for my game on Steam?

Pricing is very title specific, and we've got a lot of data and experience to help you decide on what the best price is for your title. We'll work with you to figure out pricing.

Congrats, you just proved both of us wrong while also admitting that even Steam sales can't be credited to Valve themselves, which means that point cannot be valid towards Valve being "not greedy".

I never said Valve set sale prices, nor did I ever praise them for their sales. If they don't set the prices for anything but their own games how can you call them greedy, especially when most of their games are either free or less than $20? It doesn't make sense.

Because nobody minds if they make ridiculous money if they're also giving us awesome deals and publishers are making a great margin?

What, companies are only good companies if they're charities?

I never said they were greedy, just that Steam's prices are atrocious, which they are, and that was my main thing against it.

Oh really? Humor me. Show me where I've been trolling. I'll wait.

Look at this topic. Not much else is needed for me. Anyone who completely ignores a point someone made, and simply repeats the point they already made (and was refuted) is an insta-troll on my list and really isn't worth the time to debate/argue with. (Well... I'm trying to get to that point :) I've without a doubt bitten my fair share of troll bait)

I'm not necessarily saying you're intentionally trolling either.

The funny part is I do realize it I was posting official links to back up what you were saying, but thanks for acting like a condescending jackass.

Amusing.

Is it a for profit corporation that's actually doing business? If yes, then it's out there to make as much profit for its shareholders as possible. That is the fundamental nature of a corporation. A for profit corporation is greedy by the very laws that permit them to be created. Accusing a corporation of being greedy is as sensible as accusing a living being of metabolizing. The only question is the tactics the corporation uses to get those profits.
