I'd really like to see what people think, and if I get enough "other" votes for specific developers, I may turn this into a whole bracket tournament.

Blizzard - Created two of the most well-known RTS series on PC, created the world's most played MMORPG, and created one of the most influential aRPG series.

Valve - Created one of the world's first truly story-driven FPS games, constantly releases high-rated games, and turned one of their best games into a F2P title which is #2 most played Steam game every day, second only to another one of their games (DotA 2) which recently had a 10 million dollar prize pool tournament.

id - Practically THE INVENTORS of the first-person shooter genre, created the first platforming games for PC showing the power of computers as a gaming platform, and even made such a big impact that Bill Gates was impressed.

PC gaming's recent rise in popularity has been due to Steam, so I'd say Valve.

Blizzard has had more of an impact than Valve; come on guys. And Steam is not a game.

Considering that the vast majority of the popular games these days for good or for bad are FPS's, it has to go to id.

You could say iD has the biggest impact because if it wasn't for DOOM being more popular than Windows itself, Gaben wouldn't have decided to make Valve.
