Is there someplace I can download Windows drivers manually?

^ Thanks for the suggestion jernas, I'm trying that right now. Just having a little problem pasting the drivers in the system32 drivers folders. It won't even let me give myself full control over the folder. This is MY LAPTOP, I shouldn't have to fight with my system over who gets to modify folders.

Download a third party xinput software and configure the controls yourself. No need to scavenge the internet for drivers.

Are you using an admin account? UAC should pop up and give you an option.

Ugh... I replaced the drivers [hidclass.sys, hidparse.sys, hidusb.sys] and I still get the device not recognized issue.

Goddamn, what the hell is wrong with this thing? It is so simple.. recognize a controller.

Put those in the game folder. Open the software and push the buttons, see if it's registering the input. If yes, configure the controls the way you like, save and close. Open the game. If you hear a DING, then it's working. I managed to play Dark Souls with my $2 generic gamepad this way.

Here's the .ini already configured.

Just save the text file with the name x360ce.ini , put inside the game folder with the other stuff.

Does the controller show up in device manager? You can try deleting it and check mark delete software. Unplug and replug the controller.

The problem is that windows is not seeing my controller as a controller so no other programs are recognizing my controller either. I tried downloading x360ce anyways, but didn't help :/

It shows as Unknown Device. I go into device manager, right click it and uninstall, unplug and plug back but still the same problem. When it tries to install, it fails immediately. It shouldn't even have to install anything because windows comes with the goddamn drivers [HID Compliant Game Controllers] for gamepads.

I'm literally baffled by this. Why the heck is it working fine in one laptop but not the other, even when they have the same USB drivers?
