Yes. Easily, in fact.

I3 in 2014? Can it max out starcraft 2, lol? :D

Nothing wrong with an i3, it might not be quite as good as an i5 but it definitely gets the job done.

It's about 95% as fast per clock as an i5 for the first two threads, same thing with i5 to i7 for the first four threads, and 60-65% as fast overall with the first two threads being all that matter for 99% of games. The big thing you lose out on is turboboost which helps a lot in games that are periodically CPU intensive (ie most games where groups of enemies appear all at once).

In Starcraft 2 specifically a Haswell i3 will outperform anything that isn't a heavily overclocked sandy/ivy bridge i5/i7 (4.5ghz+) or Haswell i5/i7. SC2 just really loves Haswell, it runs close to 30% better on Haswell than it does on IB vs the 5-10% performance boost Haswell had over IB in most things.

alright... checked around at cpu benchmarks to find best cpu's. chose ones for simmiliar price range that MrLost suggested

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html#

these all cost simmiliar ammounts of money and show impressive benchmarks

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4790K+%40+4.00GHz&id=2275

339$

Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.00GHz

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4770K+%40+3.50GHz&id=1919

Intel Core i7-4770K @ 3.50GHz

$309

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+E3-1246+v3+%40+3.50GHz&id=2279

Intel Xeon E3-1246 v3 @ 3.50GHz

$284

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4790+%40+3.60GHz&id=2226

Intel Core i7-4790 @ 3.60GHz

$287.49

as for video cards:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_value.html

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+R9+290&id=2719

Radeon R9 290
$369.99

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+770&id=2531
GeForce GTX 770
$309.99

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+7970+%2F+R9+280X&id=51
Radeon HD 7970 / R9 280X
$299.99

these ones are weaker, but very cheap when compared to other gpu's:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+R9+270X&id=2702
Radeon R9 270X
$174.99

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+760&id=2561
GeForce GTX 760
$225.85

now... i dont know a thing about other components

which motherboard? What does it influence in pc power?

How to choose correct portable-lan case (will components fit in? can it sustain the heat and not fry other components from high end gpu)...

what about ram? is every ram (1333/1600hz) )the same, only price is different?

how to choose correct monitor for gaming? is 1080p enough? 60hz is american standart or it works in europe, too?

also, what about cooling fans? are they some extra component or included in case?

looks like not only usa adds duties (20% for exported stuff) to goods i wish to ship, but also europe union adds extra tax (21% if i am right) on imported goods; i might pay extra 41-47% on top of my pc budget; maybe i will have to search for parts in local stores :D

Now if you up this by $100 to account for Sager not shipping that $1300 laptop with an OS, you can either get a significantly better monitor or a 120GB Samsung/256GB Crucial SSD.

(you can also downgrade the CPU to an i3-4370, get both, and still have a more powerful desktop than that laptop)

No it can not. Even an I5/I7 at 5.0ghz can't max out SC2

Case fans are optional if your case already comes with them, but the stock intel cooler is garbage.

Thanks!

ok, i asked this because some other guys bought case fans for that case most people are suggesting here.

So you are saying that cpu fans are good because stock one makes chip overheat?

What about other questions like ram and motherboard?

Better help me with pc parts....

........

Ok, one guy said that all cases
come with ethernet socket, and some even with wireless. Also, my cpu is overkill, i should buy cheaper i5 one, "k" edition for overclockping possibility and install some extra gpu? External? And cpu cooling because 290 is hot card (maybe i should change it with other card?) for small case Like that phoenix prodigy.

What do you guys think about other parts? Are they all ok, compactible? (motherboard/power supply, etc)
