First time I heard of Eschalon.

Its turn based nature seems to be soft. That makes it slightly attractive, contrary to everything else by Spiderweb.

What is your main beef against Turn based games?

How slow they are. (and at times, clunky)

There was a time....way back...when I couldn't stand Turn Based. However now that I'm older I really appreciate the time I can take to think my strategy. My mind just doesn't work that fast anymore. When StarCraft was big, that was all I played, and I would try to play Civ 3 and puke because it was horridly slow.

Times change people bro.

The older I get, the more I prefer turn based games. With a family, I can not worry about the game going on when I am busy or my kids need something for 5 minutes
I can plan out my strategy and take my time.
Been playing Age of Wonders 3 and Endless Space as of late.
