Past couple of days when I started the computer I'd hear it click and it wouldn't be recognized in windows until I restarted. Now today, it's not recognizing even after restarting. :(
Any tips or tricks regarding extending its life?
And I actually just remembered that we have an extra external drive in the house. I wish I had remembered yesterday so I could have backed my info.
I'll keep restarting in the hope that it reads the drive just one more time. --- http://avatar.xboxlive.com/avatar/emblem%20boy/avatar-body.png haters gonna hate

If a hard drive is dying there's no point in trying to extend its life... its unreliable and worthless by that point. About getting your files, I don't know. You might try installing windows on another drive and try accessing it as a secondary...
