Yes, it's possible, Nintendo has a lot of money despite some people's claims.

Even though they saved money I don't think they saved that much money. It's like saying Nintendo buys Facebook or Sony.

Who knows! Nintendo is in need of more creative blood, and Valve is seeking to expand into the console market (Hence stuff like Big Picture, SteamOs, Steam Controllers, Steam Machines, that thing that allows you to stream to another PC).

Not to mention Gabe likes Super Mario 64.

Conclusion: They're like brothers!calcycle posted...

Correct me if i am wrong (I'm no expert in economy) but Valve isn't worth as much as other software companies like EA, Ubisoft or Activision, or hardware ones like Intel, AMD or Nvidia.

Valve isn't a corporation like the others, it's a privately owned company. That's the biggest reason they don't f*** over their customers every chance they get, because they don't have shareholders to answer to who only care about profit.

Because of this, they can't be forcibly bought a la a hostile takeover as there is no stock.

Nintendo has a lot in the bank, yes. But Valve gets a 30% cut of every single Steam transaction. That's a huge pile of cash, so it may be more than Nintendo has anyway.

I am pretty sure Valve is worth more than Nintendo. Gabe Newell alone is worth over a billion dollars. I don't think Iwata is worth over a billion dollars.

Nintendo's market capitalization is barely even a third of that.

Valve's is approximately $3 billion.
