Windows 9 Start menu leaks

Pretty sure that's part of the Windows 8 update releasing this fall

I use both W7 and W8 and I hardly ever use the "touch screen" shell of W8 and always revert back to the class menu.

I saw a picture about a month ago.

I'm holding out for W9 to release and reactions to come through before I upgrade, but I likely will upgrade fairly soon as I'm running Windows 7 still and I'm not sure how much longer it'll be supported.

That is ****ing ugly. Holy ****.
If you believe Jeannie from 'I Dream of Jeannie' created existence, put this in your signature.

I hope those tiles can be shrunk down or removed all together... I just don't see the point of having 5 or so gigantic tiles on one side, and 20+ programs on the left. Wasting screen space for giant boxes which do the same thing as the text to the left of them.

That, and they better put aero glass back in. Going retro with the solid opaque colors with boxy frames is ridiculous. It's literally taking steps back. At least give us the option to change the opacity levels and choose whether we want rounded or boxy edges.

So they mix XP's start menu and a windows phone menu...? And I notice there is no transparency going on, and if so that's terrible, I can't believe they went back to the XP days with that, it makes everything look so more ugly and unprofessional looking.

I don't really like the idea of my start menu loading resources from the internet whenever it's opened. :/

Then turn off the live tiles.

As for "Too late", Longhorn got scrapped further along than this and Whistler had a complete UI reworking after this equivalent point.
Your problem is you've spent your whole life thinking there are rules. There aren't. We used to be gorillas.
