I'm not sure what you mean by "drag on". The first game isn't very long, especially compared to 2 and 3, which are close to twice the length.

But yeah, I would recommend finishing as much as you can. ME1 is the most important entry in the series as far as the story goes.

If you already beat ME1, yes definatly. ME2 is a lot better overall. So much more to do and see. Some people say ME2 is a bit boring cause it doesn't feel as important, and yeah a lot of the agme is helping you crew mates with problems in and recruiting people for a mission, so it might be less epic then a save the galaxy story, but overall its a lot more interesting all through out.

ME1, while is a decent game, there is a lot of filler. Most of the side missions are totally boring crap. The combat is also tough to slog through sometimes cause its just pretty crappy overall in this game. All the main missions are pretty good though. If your in ME1 still try and finish the main missions at least. The game ends with a bang for sure and has some great moments.

If you don't like the first game, what makes you think you'll like its sequel?

Because the gameplay is pretty different?

I love the Mass Effect series, but man the first game plays like garbage.

The second is one of my favorite games ever, the first is riddled with time ducking quests and slowly walking through the citadel or standing in 3 minute elevators, having to break down gear in a junky interface, fps gameplay is practically just for show and not really that use able,...

It's not a bad game, but there's lots of reasons the second is better than it. There are many videos to watch to catch you up on what happens in the first, and I think even programs to allow you to make a save with whatever choices you wanted to make, so if you're not enjoying it there's no reason to keep playing it.

The second was just better, I think MOST people would agree with that.

I played through the first game only once, the 2nd and 3rd I played through multiple times because they were way more fun.

I never finished the first game and think it's pretty balls, but I finished the second and third games just fine without feeling like I missed a lot. Just watch a youtube video or w/e the summarizes the story. First game is pretty awful. Second and third games are okay. The whole series is a crying shame because it's not kotor.

Because ppl said the second one is the best one in the series just as ppl have said Morrowind is the best ES game in the series.

Not sure if you've heard, but the director of ME left Bioware... so I guess that means no KoTR 3 :(
