Started Witcher 2 - Something seems off

I am really enjoying the first few missions, gorgeous game on high resolution but the stiff movement is really throwing me off.

When I get into a brawl, it feels like I can only move up down left right, nothing in between.

Also, the lock on, is there a way to cycle through? I am playing on an xbox360 controller.

Thanks for reading.

I'm currently playing it now as well but with a PS3 controller. If you haven't got up to it yet, at the end of chapter 1 there is a major decision to follow 2 paths that changed the rest of the game. The game doesn't give you enough info on one of them making you think they're the bad guys which isn't true. Are you fighting for humanity or are you fighting for every race including humans? (witcher isn't human btw). That should effect your choice.

The movement isn't stiff for me, might because of mods though. Check some out, there's some that effect animations and such. And make sure your using the most up to date version, the developer released a large update that changed a lot of things not too long ago.

The combat is clunky, most people will agree. As far as lock-on cycling I cannot remember.

Game is decent enough. Combat will be borderline frustrating early on because of how clunky it is and how weak Geralt will seem, but later it becomes ridiculously easy because of new powers, new equipment etc.

Thanks for the posts. How would I manually update? I have it via steam so I assume it would auto update?

Cool, I didn't realize this game supported mods. I'll check them out when I get home.

Witcher 2 really isn't about combat, it's functional but that's about it.

If you bought it on Steam then it's fully updated already.

Game is ment for keyboard and mouse not a gamepad, when I tried playing with the Ps3 controller it felt really slow and clunky.

Gameplay sucks but story is great. Also worst ending ever.
