Everyone fed up with Greenlight and Indie games consuming your Steam store page?

Well there may be some hope on the horizon. Some leaked CSS code for Steam appears to indicate that in the near future, you should be able to have much more control over the content that appears on your front page. Those of you who hate certain genres or types of games may finally be able to filter them out - as well as filter out games you already own - and see more of only what you want to see.

Nice... So at least they're doing something productive. I don't have a problem with stuff in the store. If I want it, I know about it already and I just search for the store page to buy it, but maybe this will appease those people frustrated with "early access" and "indie games" or new releases that aren't really new.

I don't really have a problem with the store page either... I watch it for special deals, but otherwise, I have SO MANY games I'm dying to play right now that I already own, I'm not thirsty for new ones to the point the store page frustrates me. I see a lot of people around here complain especially about how Steam is overrun with early access and stuff now tho, so these changes should hopefully give them ways to filter all that out and only see what they want.

Not really as I know how to work a mouse and scroll bars. There's also the fact that I've seen plenty of AAA games amongst the independent/greenlight games.

What's wrong with indie games?

I wouldn't mind being able to filter out early access and genres I'm not interested in, though. I don't generally like FPSes, so I'm not going to buy them.

This. I don't get the rage for indie games getting some spotlight.

Personally, I'm tired of having 2D only, small scale only 3 hour games.

Most indie games are actually either terrible or very niche. If I'm really looking for an indie game, I know where to look. When I want anything else, its ridiculously annoying to try and find anything that isn't said indie games.

Of course there probably isn't much on the other side to play either, but I at least want the ability to see it.

Heck, I'm still dying for a filter for "3D" games, these days it sounds necessary, but wherever you search 3D just refers to out-of-screen 3D.

Sigh.

The only games I'm instantly turned off from are the ones that look like they came directly out of RPG maker with cookie cutter RPG gameplay and that I keep getting because they come in bundles I get. I really don't care for them and don't want to play them.

Thank christ. I can finally consign all of those "early access" scams to the trashbin where they belong, and only see actual products on my store page.

Now if only there was an easy way to filter out "Generic Indie Pixel Game #1271028070120" as well.

I'm fine with it. I don't see the big deal, I still see new AAA games too. It's nice seeing different games and styles.
