When the 360 was released, did it hold a brighter candle to PCs than the Xbone or PS4?

Not to mention it cheats a bit by comparing $400 (or however much consoles cost these days) to the $1,000 Titan.

At the current point, this gen consoles (PS4, Xbone) are probably superior to what an average PC gamer has.

Theoretically by technical numbers.

But between diminishing returns and optimization not really.

Not really as meaningful as it sounds. The Titan's a luxury product and priced accordingly, the only ones for whom it's ever really been an economical pick have been people who need a card uncrippled for professional rendering work (since nVidia normally doesn't like their gaming cards competing with their workstation cards and artificially weakens them there). For purely gaming purposes a GTX 780 offers 95% of the performance at 50% of the cost.

It terms of Gaming PC vs Gaming Console, it's not boasting very powerful specs. But the architecture and coding used for games, yes, they are as close as they've ever been to similar hardware.

The 360 did have a great GPU, but the CPU wasn't that good, and the 512MB total RAM was low even back then
