Honestly, console gaming doesn't offer anything PC can't offer these days.

Exclusives are the only reason to own a console. I recently made the switch to PC gaming and my god, one of the best decisions I've ever made. Such a better experience if you can afford a nice rig.

consoles' price:exclusive game ratio has become absolutely horrendous though.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy.

Consoles just have an awesome exclusive here and there (So does PC), and the Wii tends to favor more couch coop play than the other systems.

Otherwise, the PC is top dog, and I'd even put the price in there along side a system. Take a PC and the sale games you buy throughout the 8 year period of a console and the $60 games you buy and I'll bet it just about runs even. The thing is, PC gamers want the best of the best and we're willing to pay for it. That means a graphic card upgrade every few years. It's not necessary. We could still play console quality, but we want PC quality. Even with that though, I'd bet it's still close in price.

Where do you buy PC games for $10 on their release date? Can you please share that with me and save me some money.
If you don't want everyone to know, just send me a PM.

As for other part, I agree.
Just do whatever you want with your money.
You want to buy a 2k$ apple trash? Go ahead, but don't try to justify the purchase here. (Just an example).

I personally don't buy brand new games for PC's, because every gaming PC I play on has some sort of glitch, error, DLL issue, broken driver, framework issue, etc, etc, that keeps me from caring about the headache of high end resolution and framerate, so I just stick with a proprietary console.

Past that, my buddies who game on PC's tell me that Steam sometimes have new games for dirt cheap. (I do not advocate steam for other personal reasons)

Not really, 1-4% want "the best of the best", the rest are using low-end to modest/middle-of-the-road gaming rigs (like myself). Have you ever looked at the Steam hardware survey/any other hardware surveys? Not a whole lot of people are running high-end i7's with dual 780tis.

Well a heart-attack doesn't offer anything that cancer doesn't, but people would rather not have the latter.

I 95% agree. Freaking Sony is making me get a PS4 for Bloodborne. I promised I wouldn't get a new console too. :(

Honestly I don't see how anyone could enjoy consoles, they're inferior machines that just hold games hostage.

Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Smash, Pikmin, amongst MANY others. You're right, consoles offer nothing.....
