Astros sound alright but the a40s would be better unless you must have wireless. That being said they aren't the best quality once you actually start shopping around. The mixamp is decent but the headphones themselves are sub par. I had a pair of a40s which I thought were great until I replaced it with some sennheiser pc360 headphones. Probably the best gaming headphones you can get. If you want any better you're gonna have to go for audiophile headphones.

if your tv or monitor you use for consoles doesn't have a jack for headphones, you can use this

I know you can setup a PS3 to use different audio and video cords, so I presume the ps4 can. Not sure about xbox.

Steelseries Siberia V2 is your best value buy, imo.

Amazing sound and not that atrociously expensive like some other headsets.

The bass is boomy as all hell and the treble is undefined. They're great for the price and probably the most comfortable headset I've ever used, but the sound is far from amazing.
