Look, when you buy a DRM free or DRM game from humblebundle.com, you get the option to choose who will get the money e.g. support developers or donate for charity but when you buy from a Steam were all games has DRM, half of your money goes inside Newell's stomach. Which might also overweight him and eventually make him sick or kill him. Yes some games on humblebundle has DRM but you still get to select for what you will pay.
I really don't consider steam DRM. It is a game library management system that I can buy games through. It has never affected me negatively when trying to play a game. The community and trophy features are slow and buggy though.

I did that on purpose so I can make you guys laugh. Imagine paying $60 and Newell getting $30 from it for burgers at McDonalds. Valve is not developing any game, what else will Newell spend the money on.
I only cared about DRM on console because Sony/ Microsoft/ Nintendo will take their servers down after their consoles fade away from third party support, where as Steam/ Origin are going no where.
Hell even GFWL "died" and their game servers don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
To be honest, even if you do consider Steam a "rental service" where I lose every game I bought eventually, it still wouldn't be the end of the world for me. I'd definitely get pissed, but I paid so mind-numbingly little for all my games that I feel like I already got my money's worth out of everything and then some.
Then again it's very unlikely Steam is going away in the near future.
