These are monitors built specifically for radiologists ("xray doctors"). They need very high resolution and color accuracy when reading CTs. You want every monitor being 100% accurate and calibrated, so the same CT scan looks the same on every monitor.

Probably still more expensive than it needs to be, but radiologists can be (and arguably need to be) really picky about this stuff. I know a radiologist that wears 3 different pairs of glasses at work just so he can see the images accurately from different viewing angles.
