Screen randomly blacks out for a few seconds at a time.

what could be causing this? the hdmi is secure, the power point is tight.

GPU coming loose or something wrong with the screen itself?

Why's it gotta be "blacks out" when something is wrong?

Why not "goes blank"?

Might be the cord. My buddy has that and constantly complains on skype when his screen goes black on CSGO.

By that you mean it reboots suddenly? Couple weeks ago twice (if not thrice) we had three separate monitors all connected with VGA (two of them) or DVI (one I'm using) reboot for no reason what so ever, all other power in the house stayed on, neither me nor someone else could think of why.

I have built http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gFKkgs - Minus a few parts (monitor @ moment). Screw trying to record video (on PC).

yep, game doesnt pause, audio keeps running, just the image blacks out for 2-3 seconds then its back.

I might call dell and see if they will swap it around on warranty before it just blacks out completely.

He was trying to set you up for a joke by implying you're racist for using the adjective "black".

Mine does this when any electrical appliance near the one the monitor uses gets switched off/on. It has nothing to do with my hardware. Only way I can see to remedy it is to change my electrical wiring or get a better power strip with surge protection.

Maybe it drank too much Southern Comfort? That always causes me to black out.
