dedicated physx card?

#1mrtywerPosted 8/17/2014 9:42:46 PM
I have an old GeForce 8800 GT, and plan on getting a 770 soon. Can I use the older one, in order to do a dedicated physx card?

No, you shouldn't it would actually be slower than just using the 770 for both graphics and physx.

8800 GT is recommended as a physx card by many games

I'm not even going to argue. You're wrong, TC if you don't trust me look up benchmarks.

I also wouldn't trust this Dieinafire1 guy because no sane person spends 2k+ on GPUs then has a crappy CPU like his. Something tells me he doesn't even own the hardware.

Clouddx is right after Batman AC the 8800 gt has become useless as a physx card. 770 better alone then with the 8800 gtx

I had a 9800GT and a 750 GTX. The 9800GT wasn't able to do physx on higher settings. If I used just the 750, then I was able to.

Long story short, its not worth it. I think the 750 is the new PhysX card, if you were to do it. Low power, low heat, does the job.

Clouddx don't talk and get back to your b.s. PS4 system killer benchmarks in 768p. What a joke
At least when I'm wrong I admit it.

Plus I'm in a middle of a system rebuild and when the next intel cpus come out I will have the best one. If you weren't lame I probably dust off one of my old 1080p monitors and thrown you a bone so could benchmark properly. Clouddx you're a sad soul
