Nvidia has said it uses Directcompute, not PhysX. Should leave the door open for AMD.

Is that like the water tech in Just Cause 2 at all? Or does 'CUDA enhanced' mean something else entirely?

HairWorks is part of nvidia GameWorks. I'm pretty sure all solutions within GameWorks work on any hardware. Only PhysX requires nvidia gpus.
