Serious question for PC gamers...

I didn't even pirate Minecraft - had no reason to, because PC Gamer put out a free version I was able to try, and liked it enough I bought the full thing.

My favorite part of this topic was when TC just assumes that everyone is pirating games when they're new and expensive, and actually buying them when they go on sale for 95% off.

Anyways, I think the last game I bought new at full price was the Shadowgate remake.

Preordered The Crew Gold edition last week. 80 dollars for a game coming out in 3 months. Oh and Ubisoft. Come at me haters. Probably my most anticipated game coming out this year. Far Cry 4 will get a day one full price treatment as well.

Contrary to belief not all pc gamers are cheap. I'm cheap if its a game I have little interest in but just enough to warrant a play. If its something I want I'll buy it. If I need a little more money to buy it I'll work a couple hours extra...

Only a fool pays full price at launch for a video game these days. I do not pirate games, and I also do not light money on fire to amuse myself.

Well, he didn't say launch. He said when its new.

A week or two, or even a month, its still new.

In 2 weeks, you generally know everything you'd ever need to know about the game to make a proper decision.

preordered RoS... cheating a bit though because i spent like $5-10 on it while the rest of the funds came from selling stuff in D3 for battle.net bucks or whatever it's called.

my last real full purchase of a new game was GW2.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy.

And in a year and some change, you get the Game of the Year Edition, or whatever they choose to call it, for 50% or less of the original launch retail price, and with all of the inevitable DLC included instead of being extra on top of the original full retail price.

Some people enjoy pissing away money to have another game in their backlog, I don't.

When I see serious question I expect the question to actually be serious. I expect way too much from gamefaqs I suppose.

Yeah, go ahead and assume that most PC gamers are either pirates, or cheapskates who only buy Steam games at 80-90% off.

The last console game I paid full price for was Killer Is Dead, and the last PC game I paid full price for was Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Collector's Edition.

Time = money. Why would I wait half a year to save $10 on a game I want to play today? Your logic really only applies to overpriced AAA games and doesn't reflect the reality of the market place.
