After a hard day of standing up and teaching a bunch of braindead teenagers how to do simple math and open a document on a computer, grading, filling out lesson plans, and engaging in petty public education politics, there's nothing I find more relaxing than sitting down in my comfy chair and playing some vidya on my computer. I don't even have to pop in a disk, I just double click an icon and I'm playing.

what's your occupation?

Just gonna take a stab in the dark here, but I think he *might* be a teacher.

You know, what I find so stupid about all these "PC gaming sucks because" troll topics isn't so much that they all claim ignorant things like not being able to game from the couch... What I find stupid is that these days, the people making the topics claim to not be anti-PC, claim to be PC gamers, etc. As though those comments might somehow lend a bit more credibility to the absolutely r******* statements they make.

What's that thing in the second link called (the generic name, not the brand name) and how much do they cost.

That type of thing is called a lapdesk. That specific one is a Couchmaster. There are a wide range of prices on them, from the tens of dollars into the hundreds. Or you can always custom build your own even. I think that Couchmaster one runs around $140 or so.

Thank you so much! I'm planning on building my own pc this winter, and didn't know how I was going to use my mouse since I sit on a chair like this: http://www.amazon.com/Cortesi-Home-Chicco-Armless-Accent/dp/B00IITFDLQ/ (not that one exactly but you get the point) and sit on it next to the tv, not a desk with a monitor.

If a game is truly fun, you should be able to enjoy it even if it doesn't have stat tracking, achievements, good graphics, or a ranking system.

I figured as much. I was hoping for a little detail.

Run HDMI cable from GPU out to TV in.

Get wireless KB+M and/or joypad.

You are now PC gaming on your big TV from your couch.

Assuming it works. As I discovered this weekend, sometimes the graphics card just doesn't want to detect your TV despite how much Windows insists it's detecting it. Oh, ATI and your finicky graphics cards.

I have my computer set up so I can game from my bed... I wasn't aware of any regulations stating that PC had to be used from a desk. :(

If I had a console that I wanted to play, I'd game from the same spot...unless i had friends over because inviting your friends to bed would just be weird... "Come here and let's play a game" "uh... no thanks dude"

Trackball mouse and wireless keyboard... I'm able to game from my beanbag/couch/bed.... If I want to use a mouse I've got a pad to use as a mouse pad for my Naga.
