It's nice that it didn't look scripted, unlike what some other game companies would have done.

Hopefully that's just the console version, because it doesn't look that hot and seems to be running at about 20fps.

What kinda hardware is this demonstration running on? The game was stuttering noticeably.

I think it's the Xbone version. It's being played with an Xbone controller and it's been demonstrated at MS conferences. I think they've made a deal with MS.

And Witcher 1 and 2 are not like Skyrim. Witcher 3 will be an open world game, though.

It's not often that they'll bother to compile a build, burn and format a disk and test it just for a demo. These are almost always done on PC, especially when it's months before release.

I never played any of the Witcher games and I'm too lazy to search... Is it like Skyrim?

It's like Skyrim...with Witcher gameplay.

-The map is huge
-NPCs have day/night schedules
-Combat is updated:
Signs have multiple uses, can be spread wide or narrow cones
Signs interact with environment (Igni can ignite gas clouds)
Looks like the heavy attack might have a charge up now
Crossbows are in
Decapitation
-Geralt isn't afraid to get his hair wet anymore, full underwater swimming

Am I supposed to be impressed?

-yes, because no game has ever had a huge map
-NPCs had day-night shedules in Oblivion, too. It was called Radiant AI, and it sucked ass
-Signs can have wide and narrow cones, wow. Signs can interact with environment, wow. This is basic stuff gamers expect.
-wow, a charge up. never seen that before...
-Crossbows were already in Gothic 1/2, I guess CDPR are trying to catch up with 10+ year old games.
-Decapitation was in the first two Witcher games, big deal
-wow, swimming. Morrowind and Gothic had that 10 years ago...

Oh come on. It's ok to be excited about a new game.

I see they're sticking with 'have Geralt do a 3 second twirl and leap attack to hit an enemy once' that plagued Witcher 2's combat.
