Ultra wide vs. 1440p vs. 144 hz

1440p by far. Why on Earth would anyone be choosing 144 Hz over it? The increased refresh rate is nicer, but the difference between 1080 and 1440 is far larger than the difference between 120hz and 144hz.

More FPS is almost always better, but there is a point where it doesn't matter that much to me. 60fps is completely acceptable, and 120 fps is fantastic. Anything more than that barely makes a difference for me, where as the vastly increased resolution is much more noticeable. Most of the 1440p monitors can be overclocked to 110hz or more without too much trouble, and even 60hz is better than a 120 hz 1080p monitor in my opinion

Well, personal preference.
I for one think anything over 24" is an overkill for a monitor, since I sit right in front of it.
At that size, 1440p isn't really worth it.

As for refresh rate, some of us play competitive games at higher level and for example in CSGO, 120/144hz is a huge upgrade over 60hz.

I think I have improved slightly playing CS:GO ever since I've had a 144 Hz monitor, not a big leap but one nonetheless. After having one for 6 months plus in the future I would prefer to move away from TN panels however, the colors and viewing angles just aren't up to IPS levels at all.

As a digital artist, resolution and color accuracy all day. Super high refresh rates? Don't even have the GPU muscle to get those sort of frames.

2560x1440 at 144Hz. Asus' Rog Swift monitor can do that.

don't you have to get 144 frames per sec to enjoy the benefits of a 144 hz monitor?

even 90 is a 50% improvement

My next monitor will be ultrawide, higher res doesn't really matter to me that much, even 1600x900 was fine to me, but going from 4:3 to 16:9 was awesome. I'll probably take a step up with the resolution as well just because so long as the GPU to push the extra pixels isn't too bad expensive.
