Getting kinda tired of being offered console game hand-me-downs months later for full price.

I'd rather we get them than not but being treated like a 2nd class consumer prevents me from rushing out to spend my money.

Lol, what? Show me ONE sequence with "thousands" of zombies on screen, there are a few dozen perhaps, maybe 50-60 at most, not "thousands". I'd be amazed if the PS4/XB1 could process that many AI at once, even high-end PCs would struggle.

Even Dead Rising 2 could support having hundreds of zombies on screen, just look at any video of the main strip of Fortune City. Dead Rising 3 really has a whole lot more zombies on screen than past games. If you ever check out the intro after the plane crashes there are an absolutely massive amount of zombies on screen. There are easily hundreds on screen, possibly even reaching over a thousand if you look into the distance of the hordes.

Here is an small example
http://youtu.be/0GzCnM2WOJY?t=1m48s which was on xbox one
http://youtu.be/AtPS5OYN0_A?t=16m21s the same scene on PC

This is just from the intro, so this is actually scaled back from the usual crowds roaming the streets. The smaller crowds are only there just due to locale, so if you go to right place you will find more zombies. Reaching two-thousand though? That would be a little difficult due to how spacing the zombies would be in the environment. The devs stated the max that could fit on screen would be three-thousand but the engine was built to support a lot more.

Your estimate of 50-60 would be better suited for the Dead Rising that was on the Wii, they actually faded when you got too far from them in that game.

Sadly you can't use playfire credit with coupons, I wish you could though and get the discount.

It's the equivalent of $60 on Steam, in fact it's the same on GMG so is the price different in the US or is there some huge discount somewhere?

Either way, $33 is clearly not Capcom's intent.

Yep, maybe 60-70 onscreen at once, tops. That's cool, but still a far cry from "thousands".

I bet you just checked the intro and didn't even bother watching the full video. Bravo. He was referring to the scene at 01:37. That is easily in hundreds and the game has an impressive draw distance. Zombies don't fade away and the corpses actually stay there the entire session. Previous dead rising games had the corpses vanish soon after you killed the zombies. It's details like this that make this game next gen and more demanding on hardware.

... and to some others saying the game is locked to 30 fps, no it's not. This has been confirmed a billion times that the game allows any framerate and resolution. Devs have done many Q&A, streamed the PC version on different setups, etc. From what it looked like on streams, graphics cards like GTX 680 & 770 can max the game completely on 1080p with framerate that will float around 40-60 depending on the scene. That's pretty good for mid range cards.

I'm in Canada, so the price may be different in other regions. The base price is $50 with a 10% off for pre-orders, so $45. If you use one of the 20% or 25% off coupons that GMG frequently has, then it goes down to $36 or $33, respectively. However, I never consider pre-order discounts or coupons as the price because it's not the base price. It's a discount, one that isn't applicable everywhere to everyone.

Its capped at 30 fps? Wtf, why?

I was interested in seeing how good it could look with all those zombies on screen but I guess not. Will buy on deep discount.

I will, but I'll wait for a price drop. Its basically a year old game being ported over. Not going to pay full price for that.
