Mouse keeps reconnecting

I've googled, and tried everything. What do i do? Could the USB from the mouse be the problem?

Faulty power cord maybe.

You have 3 options. Re-splice the wires. Buy a new cord from ebay. Or call in warranty for replacement.

Have you tried a different USB port to know whether it is the port or the mouse? If you're lucky, you have a faulty mouse and I would just buy a cheap one on Amazon.

I've tried different usb ports, so it could be the mouse. It's about 7 years old after all.

Wired or wireless? If its wired I can pretty much guarantee it's the cord going bad. Examine it and if you find a frayed spot where it's coming apart, try electrical tape.

Ye, it's wired. You're saying it should open up the cord, with a knife?

No, I'm saying look at the cord near the USB port and near where it connects to the actual mouse. Those two spots might be worn, cracked, and the wires within the cord visible.

I'd just cut it and splice it if it were frayed... but I'm used to doing that because I have a cat that bites wires in half.

Alright, the problem seems to be near the mouse. Whenever i move the cord, at the mouse entrance, it reconnects.
