Battlefield is about as slow as CS is really. I mean you certainly cannot run and gun in Counter Strike games, that'll just get you killed.
In CoD games that's a perfectly valid strategy, running and shooting the instant you see somebody and then running again - only ever stopping to regen some health or to use a killstreak.

You could try ArmA and see for yourself. The older ones are a bit tedious, or feel that way initially, until you understand the game. ArmA 3 is pretty good and the online community (that I've encountered so far) treat the game and every player fairly. There is a learning curve, which most FPS games today lack.

ArmA games are known to be simulators as in... going into different stances to get the most out of different weapons, planning the approach on enemy installations before-hand with your team, etc., There's also the fact that the map is vast and there's vehicles to drive.
