I think the parents and uptight morons in places of influence are the ones who need to regulate their own brains. Sex and Violence is fine. There's a rating system after all. If a 12 yr old gets his hand on a M-rated game, whose fault is that? Certainly not the distributors' and definitely not the developers'.
We don't get AO rated games so the people who complain about video games influence secretly won most people just don't know it.
Sex is far worse, because it's pretty much pointless and adds absolutely nothing to the gameplay. It's also ALWAYS terrible executed in every single game that has sex being visually depicted (not counting sex games, don't play them so I can't judge about that). Meanwhile, violence has a direct effect on the gameplay. Seeing blood spurt out after shooting someone in the head isn't only satisfying, but it's also a visual cue that you got him good.
