Sunday night/Monday morning is when I run a malwarebytes scan

Runs daily in the background.

Your problem is you've spent your whole life thinking there are rules. There aren't. We used to be gorillas.

Firefox + ABP + Ghostery + No Script = no need for anti-virus software.
I run a scan maybe once a year, if that. It never turns up anything.

I'd know if my computer had any malware long before a scan could pick something up.

Once a week, if I remember to. But it's not something I go out of my way to do.

I'm afraid to ask what "maleware" is.

I only check if I think there's something wrong or if some chicken little manages to convince me that the sky is indeed actually falling. Then I run a scan, see that there's nothing wrong and curse myself for listening.

Mine runs in the background. This isn't 1998, having one running in the background has almost no noticeable affect on performance. It is essentially free insurance, and what kind of dummy turns that down?
