All we need is uPlay to get killed and PC gaming will be great.

I like Origin and I like Steam. UPlay sounds bad though.

Games for Windows Live.
Very intrusive DRM.
Constantly D/Cs you in the middle of the game
Slow as well.

Honestly, I'm not surprised people are boycott or pirate games that have GFWL.

Things that also apply to Steam. But since the gaming media loves to buttkiss Valve it's all okay.

I have like 10 GFWL games on discs and have no problems with them whatsoever. If you deliberately to choose to buy them on Steam and give yourself two layers of DRM, it's your own fault.

Yeah GFWL is more intrusive than Steam it's so awful

Like I have to click "Log-in" after launching my game smh

FTFY.

GFWL encrypted save games and had a very high potential to corrupt savegames. It was also ridiculously slow. The last game I played that had it was BioShock 2, which I'm replaying now coincidentally and it's had GFWL removed from it. About 30 seconds has been shaved off me actually getting into the game from the main menu.

PC gaming is arguably better than ever; PC gaming as a whole is, but in the opinion of many, myself included, the games were a lot better when western games were mostly PC exclusive and Japanese games were mostly console exclusive.

Good lord, did Gabe sit on your cat or something?

There is absolutely nothing intrusive about Steam. At all. You can run the game from your desktop just like any other game, you don't even have to be online to play your friggin' games for crying out loud.

What a ridiculous post.

PC gaming is stronger than it has ever been and looking really viable in the face of the disastrous launch of the 8th Gen consoles. DRM is ironing itself out on PC, and PC is the only platform where digital distribution has been able to live up to its potential for both game makers (selling ridiculous volume) and game players (buying at insane discounts).

PC now has the library of almost every dead console via emulation as well as all of the current consoles via multi-platform releases. Only the PC version is always superior due to the number of options provided by the open PC platform.

On top of all that good news, PC is the only platform without a greedy annual fee for online multi-player. It also is the only platform that supports the non-Plus version of Hulu for media streamers.

It was certainly a long, difficult path, but PC has finally made it to the top, despite dragging the dead weight of the Master Race.

An indiscernible mass of mud creatures holding their arms up high in hopes a publisher drops a bad console port their way.

PC gaming is weaker now than it was back in the 90s and early 00s. Back then you had some of the greatest games of all time and real innovative, revolutionary games like Half-Life, Diablo, Quake 2, Full Throttle, Baldur's Gate, Deus Ex and more. Back in the day, you had games that really pushed the limits of your PC in terms of specifications where a lot of games required high end PCs to even be able to play them. Now you don't really have that except maybe with MOBAs.

I felt last gen was all about console gaming going online with fighting games, FPS and just about any and all games going online and selling in huge numbers.

It remains to be seen what will happen to PC gaming this gen.
