I generally avoid AMD because Nvidia/Intel has much better efficiency/TDP and as good or better power. I'm quite surprised if those numbers for discrete GPU's are accurate though. I would have thought AMD would be ahead there for sure, or at least very close, because the people who buy the flagship options like 780's and R9 290x's are extreme minorities.

I pulled them from my ass, but people are cheap in general (and if you look at the Steam stats where they track what hardware people have, I think it corroborates it though it's far from a scientific study) so it seemed reasonable.
