An Open Letter to Silence Criticism

The whole thing is just childish at this point, the whole picking a side thing is something that happens on playgrounds . extremists on both sides. Its just like console fanboys throwing **** at eachother. No one is really going to listen to anyone

Lulz. Adam Orth signed this thing. Adam "#dealwithit" Orth. Adam "why would I want to live there" Orth.

Hypocrisy so thick you could spread it on toast.

Boohoo, so he said some stupid thing in the past, does that automatically invalidates everything else he every says? And are you saying that you never said anything stupid in your entire existance?

This letter is getting signatures from all sorts of developers... And while I'm not advocating harassment and threats, the internet is an open forum-you're going to have to learn to take the good with the bad.

This seems to be about silencing criticism as much as anything else, and Anita, Phil, and Zoe certainly deserve criticism for their actions... Lying, manipulating, filing false DMCAs, mis-representing gaming and demonizing gamers... And of course, further eroding the integrity of gaming journalism.

The fact that every gaming site and so many developers seem to be siding with these people is worrisome, to say the least.

And on the other side of the coin, you get these fine gentlemen from 4chan:

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/08/gofundme-campaign-for-ferguson-shooter-drowns-under-racist-commentary/

To act as if everything is the fault of the trio/SJWs while continuing to ignore the elephant in the room, the toxic behavior of the gaming community, where it's everyone else's fault but their's, is equally hypocritical.

(1) 4chan is not the "gaming community", (2) raising money for a hero is not "toxic behavior".

I don't give a rat's ass what sort of excuses they come up with, all the gamers running around on their little rampage over the Quinn crap HAVE turned into a horribly ugly, toxic, disgusting "community." I'm ashamed to be associated with them. The scandal was blown WAAYYYY the hell out of proportion, and when that happens, people get carried away. I'm absolutely included to believe all the hate speech and threats actually happened - partly because I've seen hate speech for myself, and partly because I know just how carried away some people can get, especially when 4chan is involved.

Seriously... when it's gotten to the point that a rather benign letter asking people to just not be d***s gets flamed like this, people who have a problem with that letter ARE part of the problem. Friggin' a. How the hell can so many people lose their heads over something so comparatively small?

He killed a violent criminal before he could victimize again, and was injured in the process. He deserves a medal.

He was a 12 year old big boned toddler with a heart of gold, he had a bright future ahead of him. He wouldn't hurt a fly. He was a founding member for the Institute For Kids Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too.

Until the evil racist white man shot him in the back for jaywalking.
