Whoever said PC gaming is cheap over the long run definitely wasn't me.

I've nickle and dimed my bank account ever since I got my PC.

I'd buy, maybe, 10 console games a year for $10~ a piece.

I've bought 100 games this year for PC around $3~ a piece.

I have no self-control. Help me. HELP ME

pc gaming would be cheaper in the long run if devs would learn how to optimize their games so we dont have to buy a new $500+ GPU every 3-4 months to play 'insert AAA title here' @ 1080p+ & 60fps

The next time you see a game on sale that you randomly decide to buy for no reason, stop, and wait a couple hours. Once you've removed yourself from the original impulse buy, ask yourself, "do I even care about this game? Am I buying it because I actually want to play it right now, or because it's on sale?"

Also, get a piece of paper and tape it somewhere near your computer. Every time you spend money on a Steam game, write the amount you spent on the paper and the new total spent for the year. Every time you think about buying something on Steam, look at that paper real hard and ask yourself if the money you're about to spend is really worth it.

I didn't upgrade my old card for 3 years and I never really had that much trouble with it.

Take a look at your backlog. At all the games you own that you haven't finished, or possibly haven't even played.

"I will not buy any more games until I have finished all of the games I currently own."

4 months? Talk about exaggerating. It's BS posts like this which scare people away from PC gaming.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy.
