Probably just so nvidia can't charge 1k for the 980ti and get away with it.

Or I could build a quad-core PC that can still max 95% of all games at 1080p "+ 60fps 2-4xAA" for that price :P

Nice find though- but I just never see the practical purpose of these enthusiast cards haha, even with 4k, I'd much rather throw in a 780ti and eventually sell it for a 800 or 900 series card which will be more efficient and only cost me maybe $100-150 more to upgrade (taking into account selling the older card)

Considering that the 295X2 outperforms Crossfire 290Xs in most applications, that's actually a pretty good deal.

Great product if you want your gaming PC to also dual function as a heater.

ADD, no. Where is the thread for Fallout OCD players?

Not if you run the 290x's in Uber mode, which you would be if you water cooled them to make the comparison fair. Dual cards are always worse than two of the single version, the 295x2 just happens to have a CLC on it so it can have a better overclock.

This. I don't understand why people throw thousands at the "best of the best" PC components, even if you're wealthy I still don't understand it.

For some people the hardware is the fun part and in the case of the 295x2 specifically it's truly an enthusiast part the likes of which haven't been seen in a long time. It's the kind of part that if you handed it off to somebody who didn't know what they were doing they could realistically burn their house down, no sarcasm.

It's kinda like people who [gets struck by a car for even starting to type up a car analogy]

I forget, is the 295x two 290's stuck together, or it is it 2 285's stuck together?
