I made a topic just minutes ago asking for a good 1440p monitor and hust told a friend that I want to buy one of those Qnix 1440p monitors and he said he'll sell me his Seiki 4K TV for $400. I want it for gaming and movies.

Good to know, but if I play at a lower resolution I think it can do 60hz or more.

Then what's the f****** point? Buy a proper 1080 display.

This is true, but why do 4k if you'll never use it?

I'm guessing using it for pictures/videos would still be fine, right? Unless you run into 60FPS+ videos. Right?

Your friend sees an opportunity and is trying to dump this display on you because he knows it sucks. I would regret buying one when they were new. Glad I didn't.

I already have a 1080p, I just want to upgrade. I ask because I want to buy a 1440p monitor and that will cost me almost $400, which is my budget. He gives me the Seiki for $400 and I can use it to play in 1440p, the only thing that worries me is the refresh rate.
