Mig_MejPosted 5/18/2012 9:54:04 PM | This is an interesting story: I convinced my mom to buy me a Saturn from a thrift store, but I couldn't get it to work. In hindsight, I am almost certain that the reason the games would not play is because the battery must have been dead, but I didn't know that back then. So I returned the Saturn. A short while later, my mom bought me a PS and I never looked back. The PS had so much quality and variety that I didn't pay too much attention to the Saturn and N64. It was only later in life when I bought my own Saturn that I truly appreciated what a great system it is. Overall, the 32-64 bit gen was a great one. --- Worst E3 ever. |

That little battery *only* effects the ability to save games onto the internal memory, the Saturn will still play games without it. --- http://backloggery.com/kimimi http://kimimisblog.blogspot.com/ |
RagnarokxvPosted 5/19/2012 8:53:28 AM | Considering the only Saturn games I enjoy are Japan only releases I'm glad I didn't buy a ntsc-u model back in the mid nineties. --- Did I say that, or just think it? Was I talking? Did they hear me?? |
gameofyouPosted 5/19/2012 11:09:03 AM | Got a Saturn in Mid 1995, and was very happy with it. I loved all the Sega arcade conversions, and still got to play games like Resident Evil & Tomb Raider. Around 1999 when N64 prices dropped, I picked one of those up, too. Never owned a PS1, and I doubt if I ever will. --- Sega Saturn USB DataLink - www.GamingEnterprisesInc.com 155 Sega Saturn Videos - www.youtube.com/user/gameofyou1/videos |

now looking back after all these years, i see that the sega saturn was better if only i had gotten a saturn back then
playstation was a good choice also the problem could be if u chose only N64 ^ ^ and not any problem if u could buy n64 ps1 and saturn. $$$ --- Atari 2600 - Nes - Snes - Ps1 - Ps2 - DC - PC |
SSJ_SonikkuPosted 5/20/2012 1:43:53 PM | I did get a PS1 first, but not during its popularity. I got the Saturn later on, and it is sooo worth it. There are lots of great games to buy on Saturn (especially from importing). --- I'm a gamer that loves fighting games! |
fatjuicyslopPosted 5/22/2012 6:38:34 PM | The guy dating my aunt back in 1995 had a Saturn and it was my first 32 Bit experience. Still remember going over to their house to play Panzer Dragoon and my mind being blown away by Road Rash 3D and being able to attack the other racers with weapons. But I forgot about the saturn. I remember seeing a bunch of commercials for NiGHTS into Dreams and that's the last I thought about the Saturn until about 2006.
Christmas 1997 I believe is when I got my ps1 which was the big hotness at the time which helped me forget all about the Saturn. But since I got my Saturn on ebay in 2006ish I've fallen completely in love with the thing. The Netlink and VCD cards make it seem so far ahead of it's time. --- Check out the Mondo Cool Cast at www.mondocoolcast.com Personal site www.JerryTerrifying.com Training Log http://www.xanga.com/Poppa_Fats |

Squall88888Posted 5/23/2012 7:02:17 AM | Had the saturn first, then my mom foolishly donated it away then i got a playstation, it broke down, then i got an n64, and to this day i play it. |
gamezero6Posted 6/1/2012 10:58:34 AM | I got a PSX first because it was cheaper no way were my parents going to buy a Saturn over a cheaper PSX.
And my first (Real)Saturn experience was kinda like fatjuicyslop but, ot was my sister's boyfriend who had the Saturn and O Love me some Fighters and back then I preferred 2D Fighters and man Saturn had The Best 2D games so I finally managed to get my own Christmas of 1998 the games I got were Nights, VF2 and a demo disc. --- XBL GamerTag: NamiXJin |
