MUST PLAY games of for gba

#1minchew91Posted 7/6/2013 7:09:38 PM
Hey guys. I'm new to the gba boards here. I was kind of wondering, what are some of your must play games for the system? I've been through all the pokemon, final fantasy, etc...i'm looking for something different. I'm a big fan of rpgs, games like Castlevania, platformers, really anything that's a little offbeat or requires some strategy. Any games you guys would suggest? Right now I'm replaying through Phantasy Star Collections (psII to be exact.)

Oh wow. Thanks for the VERY thorough answer! I've played a few on the list and had a decent collection myself before i went to college. a few years ago. Sadly most the games got sold in a yard sale after I left, so I've been using an emulator until lately. A friend gave me his GBA where the A and B buttons were unresponsive, so I had a friend replace the pads and it' s great now. Right now I basically have Pokemon Silver and Zelda: Link's Awakening haha. (I know, those are GBC.) I might try the roms first before I buy them, but I'll definitely be going through the list.

Also, if you haven't player Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga yet, I'd recommend that. Possibly Lufia: The Ruins of Lore as well, though I'm not too familiar with it. The GBA Crash Bandicoot games are okay as well, though not as good as the PS1 ones.
