Is the vita worth getting at the price of $250.00 right now?

just wondering

In my opinion, it's almost never worth it being an early adopter of a game console. I prefer my systems to have a large variety of games to choose from before I pick one up. I might make an exception if there is an absolute must-have game available exclusively on that system, but Vita's current lineup just doesn't have a must-have game in it for me.

So, no ... the Vita is not worth $250 to me at the moment.

... but maybe it is to you. Depends on what you think of the current and announced games...

I'm not really in vita games right now. I'm more interested in the features. Anything really good that the vita has to offer in features.

I actually just got my yesterday because I've recently gotten bored with my PSP and just gaming in general and felt like it was time for something new. I got the gamestop deal where you get a free game along with a free case. I got Wipeout 2048 for free and played the first to races. Honestly, I would have gladly payed the 40 bucks for that game. I never really liked Wipeout Pulse on the PSP for some reason so I wasn't expecting much from 2048. I think it's well worth $250, but it's subjective.

I never early adopt either, I wait to see if the system is worth it. I only bought a PS3 this year and a PSP last year.

If the system doesn't have around 10 solid JRPGs on it, I won't buy it. I'll probably get a Vita in 3 or 4 years - If Tales of Innocence R and Ys 4 come out here. There's still nothing on the 3DS that makes me want to purchase it though.

If you're not talking about games, is there anything else a Vita does that a smartphone or tablet doesn't do better?

Vita looks like a really nice system and I do plan on picking one up eventually, but I just bought a ps3 and would rather wait and see if they release some nice bundels like they did with the PSP.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Vita has no gamez.

Kinda like the PSP when it first came out. Now look at its awesome library. Give it a while, TC. It's not going anywhere.

Out of curiosity, what is better about the current Wipeout than the previous iterations? (I enjoyed the later PS1 versions, but never got much into the PSP and PS3 ones.)

I played a little of the vita at gamestop and its pretty good, but I don't think its worth $250.00 right now, but I think its worth getting it for $169.00.
