this is what it looks like: http://www.bmoviecomic.com/board/images/smiles/MewtwoShinySprite.gif
Just planning to use a masterball as it would be too much trouble otherwise. I know the odds are 1/8000 or more for it to be a shiny everytime it is encountered.
I'm asking would it be worth it and how long would it take of soft resetting.

I'm currently soft-reseting (look in my siggy for the pokemon).
Anyway I have not got any shiny pokemon yet from soft-reseting. I've been soft-reseting:
Shiny Celebi: 1 year--no luck Shiny Jirachi:2 months--no luck--soft-resting at a halt for a moment Shiny Kyogre: 1 week--no luck Shiny Latias: 1 month--no luck Shiny Regice: 2 days--no luck Shiny Rayquaza: 5 months--no luck--soft-resting at a halt for a moment Shiny Giratina: 2 weeks-- no luck
I keep soft reseting, though, because i think it will be worth it in the end. As I type this I'm soft reseting for Latias.
--- Currently Soft-Resting for: Celebi (Jp bonus disc), Jirachi (US bonus disc), Kyogre, Latias, Regice, Rayquaza, and Giratina
I had read in the ruby board about Theomniadept soft-resetting for a shiny groudon so i thought that i might give it a go.
btw, you do know that latias's stats including shiny or non-shiny are preset when you start a new game so you would have to restart he game alot for her.

Its Latias at the southern island her stats aren't planned at the beginning of the game ;)
Thanks for the concern though :D

I'm asking would it be worth it
It as worthy as YOU consider it to be. There's no difference other than aesthetics (and the time it takes to get one), and whether that's worth or not is obviously an opinion.
and how long would it take of soft resetting.
Did you know it's a RANDOM event? We can't tell you when RANDOM events happen, because they're, you know, RANDOM.
Seriously, both questions are freaking common sense. --- gbchaosmaster

You certainly can. I can show you pictures of my shiny legendaries.
Shiny Latios - I went to SI once to look for a good natured one, got bored quickly and left; then I went back there one evening and much to my amazement shiny Latios appeared on the first soft reset!: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyLatios.jpg
Shiny Latias - took just over two months of soft resetting: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyLatias.jpg
Shiny Groudon - took a week of soft resetting: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyGroudon.jpg
Shiny Rayquaza - took nine days of soft resetting: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyRayquaza.jpg
Shiny Kyogre - took just under two months of soft resetting: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyKyogre.jpg
Shiny Palkia - appeared on the first day of soft resetting, took just over 300 soft resets: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyPalkia.jpg
Shiny Dialga - took exactly three months of soft resetting, 25,249 soft resets: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyDialga.jpg
Shiny Moltres - took just over ten months of soft resetting: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/ShinyMoltres.jpg
Shiny Regice - did a few weeks SR'ing, but then tried on my other copy of Ruby and it appeared in 7 soft resets O_O: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/SRI2.jpg
I actually managed to take a picture of shiny Regice when it appeared: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/Heliotrope1987/Shiny%20Pokemon/Other/SRI1.jpg
So don't worry, it isn't impossible to get shiny legends. I'm trying to get a shiny Giratina right now (I'm at 11,800 soft resets).
