Which would be a better choice for an ingame fire type? And if anyone wants to get more specific, natures? Thanks in advance.

I'll say Ninetales arbitrarily, with no facts or logic to back up my answer.

It's rare and unexpected, but strangely beautiful, like a unicorn using his horn to gore a priest.

Of course of course, it would only make sense to choose Ninetails.

Move-wise :
Rapidash = Ninetales without Confuse Ray
Ninetales = Rapidash without Bounce
it means Bounce vs Confuse Ray now.
Confuse Ray = 100% accuracy confusing move
Bounce = 30% paralyzing move with 70 power and 80% accuracy, but it takes 1 turn to charging.

Evolution-wise :
Vulpix evolved using Fire Stone. So, you can evolve it on lv29 when it learns Flamethrower.
Ponyta evolved at lv42.

Pokedex-wise :
No wild Ninetales, but there are wild Rapidash.

So, Ninetales totally won against Rapidash.
