Just got this game. And it won't play in my fat ps2, but WILL play in my son's slim ps2. Anyone else have similar problems ?

Nope. When i first got this game, i played it on my fat ps2. As a matter of fact, i havent bothered getting a skinny ps2, so i STILL play it on the fatty.

What will play in your fat ps2? The problem may lie with your hardware.

I only own the PS2 with the fan and it plays fine.
If you have to use force...use Shining Force!

All my other games. I will admit, though, that my fat ps2 IS about 6 or 7 years old.

I'm reminded of a similar problem with my old PS2. It ended up not playing CD based games, although it could play DVD games just fine. IIRC a laser recalibration would have just performed the necessary maintenance, but I just bought a slim and donated the old one to an acquaintance who wanted to teach himself how to do it and didn't have much money for a new system anyways.
