Yes, soft is defense lowering. To be precise, it is -2 defense.

I guess I see the move in a different light than you do. I see it as severely underpowered, whereas you see it as not quite sufficient. I can vaguely make out your reasoning and in the end, your reasoning is the one that matters, anyway. Sorry for the trouble!

(In my 2nd draft of this post, I was going to explain my reasoning, but I realized that that would be arguing. I do not know if this post has an argumentative tone to it, but I apologize if it does!)

Edit: Was "Defend"'s +1 defense made unpiercable for the Glitz Pit?

I am socially dysfunctional; I apologize in advance, for any showing of this.

Oh, Droopy was in front, I forgot to switch them around. Doesn't matter much, though.
~~~
Nudge downs one last Muscleshroom before his pole transforms into a spear! He throws it at Rockhead, finishing him off!
Molten Rockhead: 0 HP 2 FP 2 DEF
Nudge - 19 HP, 0 DEF
Droopy - 20 HP, 0 DEF
FP Pool - 14 FP
Supply and Demand bests Molten Rockhead in a Spar! Supply and Demand earns 30 Star Points, while Molten Rockhead earns 15! Supply and Demand now has 345 Star Points!
~~~

Good match, pokemon. If it weren't for the level difference, you could have done a number on us.

-The teammates in Danger inflict burn for 2 turns to all who attack them
Answer: Allowed... Reason: It seems pretty potent, but not unbalancing potent.

-When one of the teammates in Danger is hit, their partner gets some FP restored, (3 for the first 2 hits and 2 for each one thereafter) but said teammates cannot be healed by FP moves
Answer: Borderline Reason: Pretty potent, possibly overpowered.

-The teammates in Danger inflict Soft for 2 turns with their attacks
Answer: Soft is decreasing DEF, right? Allowed if so.

-The teammates in Danger recover HP each turn equivalent to one fewer than the enemies remaining in the battle
Answer: Allowed. Reason: Enemies are allowed not to target the endangered one, taking them out of danger the up-way. But, this wouldn't apply to solos... hmmm...

-The teammates in Danger become Invisible while defending (maximum of 3 times)
Answer: Well... allowed, since this allows people to ignore him.

Ah, sweet. I'll point Retro to this post and we'll decide on something.

I personally prefer Burn, slow HP restoration, or Invisifending.

Evening, everyone. I'd like to pitch you guys an idea.

I'm sure some of you remember my idea to create some sort of Pit of 100 Trials RP. That's still a long ways off, and I got to thinking. I imagined - perhaps the journey would start in Poshley Heights, and we'd take the Excess Express there - and whatever happened on the Excess Express would set the stage for the journey into the Pit of 100 Trials (such as abilities and stuff.) Then I imagined...

An adventure in Rogueport!

Everyone would select a species and an appropriate field ability. (Like Ruff Puffs can hover over hazards or Punies can fit into small cracks.) That's it. Everyone arrives at the Rogueport dock on the same day.

Then the fun begins.

I provide options.

Each person can decide which option to take.

For example, imagine I say that there are three places to make your first stop.

A. The Inn
B. The Shop
C. The Lovely Back Alley

Imagine five people pick the Inn, three people pick the shop, and one adventurous fellow chooses the back alley.

And we go from there.

In-game days are split into four sections - Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Overnight.

We take days one section at a time, and, once everyone makes their choice, we proceed.

Obviously, it won't be very fast-paced - a slower experience - an entire in-game day may take a week.

It's different from, say, the Glitz Pit, where everyone has to devote hours at a time.

It's kinda similar to the Quiz. But not really.

Speaking of Overnight, most people choose to sleep, but a few people can choose to keep adventuring - at a cost, of course. Stay up too late, and you may sleep in during the day - and you might miss stuff.

It's just a rough idea.

But Rogueport is a rough town.

I'm sure there'll be a problem or eight along the way.

And there'll be a pretty big bad guy or three to watch out for.

Combat, if any, will be limited.
