Hi, I am very new to 3D fighting games, and I can't seem to beat Jinpachi using Jin (not the devil one). can you guys suggest a good strategy? When i think i've won the round, he uses some cheap tricks to finish me off.

Jumpkick, jumpkick, jumpkick. Bah, I feel like I'm playing Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, now.

Blocking or Jumping won't ever work.

Unless there's a move that jumps you really high, you need to sidestep as fast as you can. ONLY way.

best thing to do would be to get right up close to him and just hit him with the fastest combos you know. this would stop him from using his more annoying moves such as the one that drains your energy and gives it to him, the move that stops you from being able to move freely, and the dreaded fireball(s).

dodge, get close then: rp lp rk then back+up+rp+lp (the unblockable move)
should do about 80 to 90% damage

Thanks, guys. I will try these strategies tonight. However, I defeated Jinpachi with several other characters without much trouble, but when I pick Jin, he seems to become a wounded dog. Is it a deliberate thing or the difficulty is just random?
